Crystal Experiment

For those of you who would like to make crystals at home...

Grow Your Own Salt Crystals

You need:
A jar
Water
About half a cup of
salt
A spoon for
stirring
String
Scissors
2 toothpicks

Instructions:
Fill the jar with hot water (be careful)
Add a tablespoon of
salt, mix until it dissolves. Keep adding more salt until it no longer dissolves.
Add a drop of food dye to solution.
Cut a piece of string with scissors and tie each end to a paddle pop stick
. Attach a paper clip to the other end of string.
Place the string over the top of the jar so that the string
with the paper clip dangles into the middle of the solution.
Don’t forget to clean up when you have finished.
