Save money and reduce waste with Food Know How!

Do you want to get smart about your household food waste?
Do you want to learn the joys of composting and worm farming to recycle your food waste?

Over half of the average Yarra rubbish bin is food waste. That means we are throwing away roughly 1 in every 5 bags of shopping we buy – costing each household over $1,000 a year. By getting smart about your refrigerator and rubbish bin, you can start reducing food waste right away – transforming 50% of your rubbish into savings and compost for the garden. Food Know How will provide you with useful tips and resources to help you get smart with food planning, shopping and food storage, as well as simple recipes to turn your leftovers into gourmet meals that your friends and family will love. Sign up to receive a discount compost bin or worm farm (save up to 70%). We’ll also be running some fun, interactive workshops where you can meet your neighbours and learn about cooking with leftovers and how to get started with composting and worm farming.
SIGN UP NOW at www.foodknowhow.org.au or call 9429 3084 to learn how you can participate.

Food Know How is run by Cultivating Community in partnership with Yarra City Council.
